Have you notice that when you unload your dishes and food containers from dishwasher, there are some water drops in the Easylockware plastic food containers while the metal and glass food containers are dry. Why? Let’s check out why water remains in plastic food containers after dishwashing?

Can’t Absorb Much Heat Because of Conductivity

A dishwasher can reach 130℉ to 170℉ (54.4℃ to 76.6℃) when working. Metal and glass food containers which have better conductivity can absorb more heat and evaporate water to dry themselves. However, plastic food containers uses light weight material and can absorb less heat than metal food containers do. That’s one critical reason why plastic food containers are wet when being taken out of the dishwasher.

Can’t Keep Heat Long for Evaporation

Stainless steel, ceramic and glass food containers which have a better conductivity can absorb more heat than plastic does and keep heater longer. When it comes to plastic food storage containers, they absorb less heat for evaporation, so water are easier condense on the surface of plastic food containers.

As mentioned above, conductivity and evaporation make our food containers wet after dishwashing. It’s obvious that heat is the key. You may wonder, what if I put the plastic food containers on the bottom rack of the dishwasher? We all know that the bottom rack has a higher temperature, which might provide more heat for plastic food containers to evaporate. However, that’s not true.

BPA-free plastic food containers

First of all, food containers on the bottom rack of dishwasher will face larger water pressure, which will do more harm to your food container; Moreover, the temperature is higher on the bottom layer. Heat will result in the leaching of toxic substances like bisphenol if it is not BPA free.
